What is the best protein powder for weight loss meal replacement?
Q. I've been searching for a while to find the best protein powder to use as a meal replacement, mainly looking for something that keeps me full for a considerable amount of time and is relatively low in calories, fat, and carbs. The one I've been looking at is the GNC Total Lean shakes, except they're relatively expensive. Hopefully looking for something that isn't too high cost, as I'm gonna need it for a while to lose the 40 pounds I'm trying to work off.
Thanks for the help.

Does anyone have a recipe for low calorie high protein bars?
Q. This is similar to a question I just asked about adding protein powder to recipes to give them the same amount of protein as store-bought bars.
In this question I would like anyones recipe of low-calorie and high protein bars or muffins.

A. Uhura,
Here is a link to a recipe from Alton Brown of Good Eats. It is a for a traditional candy-bar type protein bar. To lower the calories you can 1) cut back on the fruit 2) Use half the sugar, or use a sugar substitute 3) use a light tofu and 4) use egg whites or egg substitutes.

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing! I actually found online some really great protein powder recipes. You can mix it in not just water or milk, but muffins and yogurts. I personally find banana cinnamon to be the best protein powder flavors.
