When baking, I found that you can substitute applesauce or prune puree for oil in the recipe. Which is the lower calorie choice: unsweetened applesauce or prune puree?

You should try making your own salsa. There is nothing like fresh salsa and it's really easy to make. It is also low in calories because you are making it fresh and it's all vegetables. It's the best thing you could possibly put on your potato whether you are on a diet or not.
Here is a restaurant style salsa you will really enjoy. To make it really easy, substitute 1/2 tsp. of garlic powder for the roasted garlic and you will be out of the kitchen in no time.
